A Shout Out To All Of The Websites Noticing The Pearl Cup

by carlene saelg on 02/08/12

We've been getting some attention lately from our online friends and we'd like to say thanks!

On Modern Dallas, Kerrie Sparks took the time to interview us for her article "Find Your Niche and Get your Caffeine Fix!" She opened her article with this glowing set up of The Pearl Cup:
We've been exploring Dallas niches lately, and we sure do love the digs over at The Pearl Cup. Two lovely ladies who hail from Austin, Rita Davis and Carlene Saelg, are making their dreams come true—and garnering quite a fan base—as they make their stake in Dallas.
She asks us a great set of questions running the gamut from how we chose our location to what our favorite menu items are. She wraps up her interview saying;
...there you have it. Hitch up your MacBook, grab a book, or maybe those stacks of magazines collecting dust on your dining room table, and visit Rita and Carlene at The Pearl Cup. They'll be nice to you, I swear. You can while away the day sipping your addiction of choice as you "work from home" (read: updating FaceBook and LinkedIn), and they won’t even kick you out! Mi casa es su caffeinated casa! Errr, whatever, you get it.
Thank you Kerrie! We had a great time in the interview and hope to see you again soon! Read Kerrie's full article here.

In a special travel article about Dallas, Tavaner Sullivan of Culture Map: Austin write about some of his favorite places to be in Dallas, and The Pearl Cup is one of them! He writes a quick description of The Pearl Cup Saying;
For a break in your usual Starbucks routine, check out The Pearl Cup and its Pearl Latte, voted best latte by D Magazine in 2009. In 2007, owners Carlene Saelg and Rita Davis moved from Austin to Dallas. Longing for a coffee shop with a unique coffee community and culture, they created The Pearl Cup. Dedicated to great tasting coffee, you won't find over-sized coffee beverages here — the cappuccino is the traditional five to six ounces and the largest latte is 16 ounces.
Thanks for taking notice of us on your travels, Tavarner; be sure and swing by next time you're in town. Read the full article here.

The folks over at Dallas On a Budget took the time to review a visit to The Pearl Cup and here's what they had to say:
I immediately felt right at home, as if this is where I should be... Everyone in the young crowd was either tweeting, blogging, reading, Facebooking, or studying. It was immediately clear that The Pearl Cup was the place to be: A trendy coffee shop where local urbanites can be seen (or be alone) rather than to see others; a Henderson hangout that feels cool and, actually, is cool.
They go on to write about our offerings.
The drink selection was reminiscent of the shop itself: Unique, eclectic, and items every young urban enjoys. There’s a little bit of something for everyone, no matter what your preferences are... I found the quality of the expresso beans to be superior to that of Starbucks, and tastier too. They were perfectly roasted it didn't have that classic Starbucks slightly-burned flavor.
The piece wraps up with;
All in all, The Pearl Cup was a great experience... The Pearl Cup is truly a cool coffee shop to go to if you are in Dallas On A Budget. I'll definitely be returning soon.
Thanks Dallas On A Budget, we hope you do! Read the original post here.

We would like to thank these and any other websites who have taken time to write about us. We are grateful that you found us worthy of your pen... or keyboard, as it were.

Thanks to the Dallas Observer for naming us Dallas' Best Coffeeshop!

Dallas Observer

Huge thanks to the Dallas Observer for once again naming The Pearl Cup the Best Coffeeshop in Dallas for 2011! This is the second year that we've been given this incredible honor.
"Their secret-recipe signature lattes are the stuff of legend, especially the "silky micro-foam." (We don't know exactly what that is either, but damned if it doesn't taste amazing). The espresso is always velvet smooth, freshly made and strong without tasting burnt or bitter"
We're certainly proud of what we do, and we're glad that folks are taking notice. In a city the size of Dallas, we couldn't be more proud to receive this. Click on the beautiful latte below for the full story! Thanks again Dallas Observer!
